Public classes

Whatever your age, level of fitness or amount of pilates experience you’ve had, there is a class to suit you! All sessions need to be booked in advance, see the ‘How to book’ page for details and prices. See below for details of the type of classes available, the current timetable of sessions and our instructor profiles.

Principles

All participants are required to attend this session prior to a Foundation Course. You will learn the five basic principles of STOTT PILATES®, which are the building blocks to every exercise. This session can be repeated as many times as desired. Please note these sessions are scheduled on the timetable as Bookable Privates as we run these on demand.

Foundation Matwork Course*

This five week, beginners course enhances the principles and builds a foundation of exercises required to move you to the next level of your STOTT PILATES training.

Foundation Mat Plus*

This five week course will reinforce the exercises learnt on the initial Foundation Matwork course. However, you will learn how to progress and modify these exercises to best suit you. This course would suit participants who have completed Foundation Matwork or who are returning to STOTT PILATES after taking a break

Foundation Reformer Course*

This five week, beginners course enhances the principles and builds a foundation of exercises required to move you to the next level. Participants will learn how to set up and use the Reformer safely and effectively. The Foundation Matwork course is a pre-requisite to this course.

Matwork Level 1

Learning the Essential Matwork repertoire, you will develop longer, leaner muscles, establish core strength and increase your mind-body awareness. Small equipment may also be added to sessions to challenge co-ordination and add variety. Participants must have attended the Foundation Matwork course or had a minimum of 5 Private Sessions to attend this level.

Reformer Level 1

Once you have completed the Foundation Reformer you are able to progress to this level 1 session. This is a moderately paced workout using the Reformer, challenging and toning muscles, whilst strengthening the deep stabilising muscles.

Matwork Level 2

A more challenging workout for those who have completed a series of Matwork level 1 sessions. This intermediate group session offers a full body workout, focusing on increasing core strength and flexibility. The new X-iser machine will occasionally be incorporated into this workout, focusing on cardio-vascular, burst-training. Sessions may also include use of the stability ball, foam roller, Flex-band or Fitness Circle.

Reformer Level 2

This group session works on the intermediate Reformer repertoire, a more challenging session providing an invigorating total body workout. . The new X-iser machine will occasionally be incorporated into this workout, focusing on cardio-vascular, burst-training. Participants should have completed a series of Reformer Level 1 sessions prior to attendance.

Mat/Reformer Level 1

A combination of exercises from the matwork and the reformer repertoire will be taught in these sessions. Offering participants the chance to enjoy a variety of exercises to challenge stability, enhance body awareness and improve strength and flexibility.

Total Body Conditioning

This more challenging workout conditions the body in a varied and functional way utilising a variety of accessories and equipment to leave participants feeling invigorated.

Private Sessions

A private session will allow the instructor to focus on your individual needs by developing a programme shaped purely for you. Sessions are available as one-to-one or up to a maximum of 6 people. Thus enabling your sessions to be more personal to your requirements.

Monthly Masterclass

Every month we will be offering a 90 min Masterclass workout. This session will allow us to introduce new and exciting Stott Pilates workouts to participants and give you the chance to experience any new concepts and equipment within the Stott Pilates world.

Specialist Group Sessions

From time to time Specialist Group Sessions will be introduced into the timetable, these are suitable for those who have undertaken Foundation Matwork. They will be available periodically as advertised and included in the package price, participants receive a DVD and any necessary accessories to encourage workouts at home or work to accompany their weekly studio session. All Active Pilates group sessions have a maximum of 6 people per class for a more effective workout with a personal touch.
